Nevada honors out-of-state instruction permits. If the permit is valid in your home state, but you cannot use them to take your Nevada driving test. You'll need to get a Nevada permit first.
Nevada Instruction Permits are valid for one year. If your permit has expired, you must apply for renewal in person at a DMV office.

Instruction Permit
To obtain a Nevada instruction permit, applicants must be at least 15½ years old and pass a vision test and a written knowledge test. They also need to present proof of identity, Nevada residency, along with a Certificate of School Attendance (if under 18).

These results are transmitted to the DMV automatically for the purposes of issuing instruction permits or driver licenses. The test is available in both English and Spanish. Touch-screen devices are not compatible with the online exam - only computers with front-facing cameras or camera peripherals.
​Knowledge tests are also available in DMV offices on touch-screen computers in English and Spanish. The system also offers audio.
